Why I Love ThredUP
As someone who LOVES to online shop so I can constantly be sharing new #OOTDs, it sometimes can be a bit tough on my wallet. I also tend to feel guilty about how much clothing I own and I want to make sure that if I’m done with it, that it goes to a new owner and not the landfill.
When I first discovered ThredUp, I was hooked! Over the past few years, I have been able to score many a great deal. From RayBans to Patagonia to Forever21, they have so many great styles at half the cost of buying directly from the retailer.
Oh Goody! (Box)
One of my favorite features they have is their Goody Boxes! I completed a style quiz, and they sent me a box of 10 items picked out by a stylist. In my quiz, I asked for a mix of staple items in addition to some fun trendy pieces. This is the first Goody Box I’ve gotten where I was close to buying all ten items!
So let’s check out my favorites from my latest ThredUP Goody Box Haul!
What Did I Get In My Goody Box?!

First, I received this adorable Slate & Willow dress that retails for $210, but ThredUP was selling it for 41.99. I ended up returning it only because it didn’t fit me exactly how I’d like, but if it worked for my body type more, I definitely would have kept the dress.

Then we have my absolute favorite piece. This A.L.C top retails for $225 and I got it for 67.99. The material is somewhat like a knit top but with a bit more stretch/structure. I’ve already worn it twice and have gotten SO many compliments on it. I definitely know I will be wearing it many many more times.

In the picture above, all three items I’m wearing are from the Goody Box. This Zara white jean jacket is SO cute, it is in great condition. I got it for $27.99 instead of the retail price of $56 which is not bad. I was wanting a white jean jacket and probably would have bought one soon, and the stylist READ MY MIND. Additionally, I love this great basic striped top from Madewell because it is a great staple item. And I also got the Old Navy yoga pants, another great staple item to have in your closet!

Next was this beautiful necktie green top from Sweet Baby Jamie (a brand you can find on Rent The Runway). I loved the color but didn’t imagine wearing this enough to justify buying it. It would be great for someone who works in an office that requires more formal attire.

I received this Jason Wu black halter top that is 77% off retail that is SO cute but I ended up returning because, again, don’t see myself wearing it anytime soon. The jeggings are from Rag & Bone and were only $31.99 instead of $165!!! They are so cute and I actually almost returned them because I thought they didn’t fit me, but then I realized I was wearing them backward… 🙈

Lastly, I love this Sheila skirt made by Kourt. It is another item you can find at RentTheRunway (they partnered with ThredUP recently). I wore it on St. Patrick’s Day but can see myself wearing it on both casual and dressy occasions. Major score! The best part about this skirt? ThredUP reposted my picture on their Instagram – check it out!
Clean Out Kits
Another great feature they have is their Clean Out kits. I love shopping, and trends change, so I love that my clothes will either make it to a new owner or be recycled. I also get a small percentage of the sale to go towards buying new clothes (or you can cash it out, but you get more value if you use it to shop with them.) What is if even better is if they don’t select my clothing to be sold, the materials will be ethically recycled/reused. In the past year, I have probably sent in 14 kits, and earned over $250!
Try It For Yourself!
Even though I didn’t end up buying all 10 items in my box, this was definitely a great Goody Box and I highly recommend doing ThredUP. It is also great for searching for your favorite brands if you don’t want to pay full price! I’ve found many great items from brands like Madewell, Zara, RayBans, etc all for a fraction of the cost.
